Meet the Mount Gravatt East Team!
Carmen, Centre Manager.
What inspired you to pursue a career in childcare education, and what keeps you passionate about it today?
Some of my fondest memories are at the preschool program I attended, singing along to our teacher’s guitar and feeling safe to grow and explore. This is why I pursued a career in the Early Childhood sector.
What has kept me passionate are the amazing, professional mentors that I've had the pleasure of working alongside. It's through their leadership and guidance that I've been able to build upon my practice, expand my knowledge and foster early childhood theories.
Can you share a memorable moment from your time at Piptree?
Some of my favourite moments are observing children filled with delight, joy and beautiful imagination. I think we have a lot to learn from children and the way in which they view the world.
Other memorable moments include being a part of beautiful community events. That sense of community and family that we share confirms the foundational significance of relationships being a big part of who Piptree is.
What do you believe sets Piptree apart in terms of the experience you provide for both children and parents?
Educators work in partnership with families to ensure our educational program is engaging and based around exploration, curiosity, and wonder. Our incursions and excursions provide children and families with an integrated approach to play and learning and allow children the opportunities to see the world through a difference lens!

We respectfully acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we live and work – the Yuggera, Turrbal and Jagera people. We pay respects to elders past, present & future.
